Former WWE Wrestling Champion, Marc Mero, will speak to Henderson County students November 13 as part of his “Champions of Choices” presentation. Three performances will take place at 9:00 am for 9th & 10th grade HCHS students, 11:00 am for 6th, 7th & 8th grade NMS students at the Henderson Fine ArtsCenter and 2:00 pm at SMS for 6th, 7th & 8th graders.
Marc Mero’s personal mission to stand up, step up and speak up against bullying, substance abuse, and suicide culminates in his powerful speaking production. Presented in an entertaining and engaging manner, students can relate to Marc’s story and are moved to examine their own behaviors and choices.
Marc is no stranger to the negative impacts of bullying. In his riveting life-story shared with thousands of students in schools worldwide, Marc candidly talks about how he was bullied as a youngster and also how he treated his family.
“Sometimes the people you hurt the most are those who love you the most,” Marc says.
Students and listeners will be inspired to treat themselves and others with respect, dream big, achieve goals, and cherish relationships.
“Marc’s presentation is a life-changer, he speaks from experience, from his heart and students listen. Last year more than 50 students wrote personal, unsolicited messages of thanks to Marc after his presentation at both middle schools. This year we’ve added the high school students to the presentation schedule” said Greg Gibson, Executive Director of HAAA.
“Last year, Marc Mero gave our students a phenomenal boost with his message of hope and overcoming adversity. South Middle School looks forward to Marc reenergizing the students with his passion for life,” said Ryan Reusch, principal of SMS.
Marc’s exciting “Champion of Choices” presentation:
• Changes students’ thinking – how they see themselves and others.
• Breaks through walls and defenses to open students’ hearts to new directions.
• Offers students HOPE and helps them realize they are not alone in this world.
• Gives students’ confidence.
