The Henderson Area Arts Alliance is gearing up for this Friday’s special performance by Wild Kingdom’s animal expert, Peter Gros. This is the final show of HAAA’s 22nd season, and it promises to be a wild adventure. Special events will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Henderson
Fine Arts Center Friday, April 8, 2016, with Peter’s performance starting at 7:00 p.m.
Peter Gros has nearly 30 years of field experience with wildlife. He is a frequent lecturer on conservation and preservation at universities, zoos, theaters and nature and science centers around the nation. In his former position as Director of Land Animals and Vice President at Marine World/Africa USA, he and his team established breeding programs for hundreds of endangered animals.
Peter will bring more than 20 wild animals to the Fine Arts Center stage, allowing viewers to witness the exciting stories up close and learn more about the species. His presentation will include video clips of animals in the wild and funny antidotes that have occurred during his three decades of working with wildlife. Some audience members will be invited on stage for an up close and personal view of the animals.
Come early for a big animal pre-show experience in the lobby and Stagg room.
The following organizations will be at the Fine Arts Center with activities for both children and adults: Mesker Zoo & Botanical Gardens, Wesselman Nature Preserve, John James Audubon State Park, Henderson Humane Society, Pay it Forward Animal Rescue, New Hope Animal Rescue, Misfit Island Animal Sanctuary, Gabbi’s Pet Boutique , Blue Moon Stables, Spirit Horse Stables and All Creatures Great & Small Pet Sitting Service.
Children’s animal activities and face painting will be provided by Thelma B. Johnson Early Learning Center and show sponsors: Myriad CPA Group, River View Coal LLC, Subway and Eyewitness News WEHT 25. Learn about healthy eating, exercise and animal fun.
