Ben Sollee Brings His Innovative Genre-Vending Songwriting to Henderson For Two Special Performances

The Henderson Area Arts Alliance is pleased to welcome Kentucky-native Ben Sollee to Henderson for two special performances. Sollee educates as much as he entertains through his innovative style as a cellist; conveying genre-bending songwriting through electrifying performances and non-traditional album presentation. Sollee has trekked cross-country with his cello on solo bicycle tours and made records with banjo greats Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn, as well as an activist record with fellow Kentuckian Jim James of My Morning Jacket.

His two public performances in Henderson will be this Thursday and Friday:

Thursday, March 22, 2018, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Songs & Stories with Ben Sollee
Farmer & Frenchman Winery
Ben will perform and share the stories behind several of his incredible songs in this intimate songwriting performance. The event will include appetizers and cash bar provided by Farmer & Frenchman Winery. Artwork for viewing and sale by Jonathan Hittner. Tickets for Thursday’s songwriting performance at Farmer & Frenchman Winery are $25 each and available at haaa.org or by calling 270-826-5916. Limited tickets available.

Friday, March 23, 2018, 7:30 p.m.
Preston Arts Center
Tickets available online at haaa.org or by calling the box office at 270-831-9800. They are $29 and $19 or $15 for students with a valid ID.

In addition to these shows, Sollee’s schedule also includes a program at the Henderson School of Fine Arts, WARM Center, and a special performance for local 5th and 6th grade students at the Preston Arts Center.

“We’re so very excited to have Kentucky’s own, Ben Sollee, coming to Henderson for the first time,” said Alex Caudill, Executive Director of the Henderson Area Arts Alliance. “Ben is passionate about our state as well as arts outreach. We look forward to wonderful programs working with the WARM Center, the School of Fine Arts, and over 800 middle school students. A limited number of tickets remain for the intimate storytelling event at the Farmer & Frenchman Winery so get yours today!”

The shows are sponsored by season presenting sponsor Field & Main Bank, the Raymond B. Preston Family Foundation, Tri-State Perinatology, and Farmer & Frenchman Winery.
