The Henderson Area Arts Alliance is proud to bring the talented performers of Sons of Serendip to the Preston Arts Center stage Tuesday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m.
Finalists on NBC’s America’s Got Talent season 9, Sons of Serendip is a musical group of four friends, who through a series of serendipitous events, came together in graduate school at Boston University. The group is made up of pianist-guitarist Cordaro Rodriguez, harpist Mason Morton, cellist-composer Kendall Ramseur and lead vocalist Micah Christian.
The quartet met in graduate school at Boston University and has been performing for audiences as a powerhouse ever since. The group honors singer-songwriter legend Stevie Wonder in their Songs in the Key of Wonder show as they perform Wonder’s top hits such as “Isn’t She Lovely,” “Higher Ground,” and “Superstition.”
Everyone can enjoy the music by Sons of Serendip, which is a distinctive mix of sound so different that even Billboard didn’t know how to place it.
“Image-wise, we’re hard to describe,” said Micah Christian. “When we got onto the Billboard charts for our debut album, they didn’t know where to put us — we didn’t fit into R&B, didn’t fit into new age, didn’t fit into classical. We’re a mix.”
Sons of Serendip hopes to bring joy to audience members and make their lives a little better — even just for a moment.
“This talented quartet brings something for everyone to the Henderson area. They will not only be singing Stevie Wonder hits but will also be performing modern chart-topping songs. In the season of love, this is a perfect Valentine’s Day gift!” Alex Caudill, Executive Director of the Henderson Fine Arts Center said.
This show is sponsored by season presenting sponsor Field & Main Bank and the Raymond B. Preston Family Foundation.
Tickets are $36 and $31 and available online at haaa.org or by calling the box office at 270-831-9800. The Preston Arts Center was formerly the Henderson Fine Arts Center. It is located at the Henderson Community College campus at 2660 South Green Street in Henderson, Kentucky.
